Buster clowns around in a blacksmith's shop until he and the smithy get in a fight which sends the smithy to jail. Buster helps several customers with horses, then destroys a Rolls Royce while fixing the car parked next to it. An excellent short comedy with a lot of creative material and a good variety of gags.

Buster goes away to the city to prove to his girl's father he can succeed. He writes her of his various jobs which she glorifies in her imagination. She sees a surgeon, he is a vet's assistant; she sees him cleaning up on Wall Street, he's really a janitor.

Out of work, Buster tries various ways to commit suicide. At last he tries "poison" from a bottle containing booze. The president of a sporting club speaks of the need for a sportsman to promote the club and drunken Buster gets the job for which he must learn fishing, hunting and riding.

Buster bids farewell to his girlfriend and sets out on a small boat. Later, without any food or water, he is taken on board the Love Nest, managed by a despotic captain. Making his escape, he encounters a large flotation device which he does not recognize as a target for nautical maneuvers. It is blown to smithereens. Suddenly Buster realizes that it was all a dream and to his consternation, discovers that his small boat has never left dock.

When a large Irish woman falsely accuses Buster of breaking a window he is hauled before a Polish judge who speaks no English and assumes they are there to be married. She takes her new husband home to meet her four gorilla-like brothers.

Buster and Phyllis endure mishaps and adventures in the outdoors trying to prove to each other their survival skills. The balloon which lands Buster in the wilderness proves useful later on as their canoe nears a waterfall.

Buster's handmade boat, The Damfino, is finished and is, of course, too large to get through the basement door. When he drives off with it in tow, the side of his house, then the whole thing, collapses. At the harbor he rides the boat out only to have it sink beneath him. The rest is a series of adventures he and his family have with the restored boat. This funny short has some good subtle gags plus the usual slapstick and gadgets.

Botany major Buster mistakenly graduates in electrical engineering and is hired to wire a new home, installing many fanciful gadgets. The one who should've received the degree seeks revenge by rewiring the gadgets to wreak havoc.

Evil oil barons have given the Indians one day to vacate their land. The Indian chief tells his braves to kill the first white man they see. Buster shows up chasing a butterfly. Later he keeps moving the stake to which he is tied and at which he is to be burned. He becomes one of the tribe and helps them with their fight. Pretty good short comedy. The Indians are portrayed in an occasionally silly but definitely sympathetic light.

The opening scene, a dream sequence prior to the vaudeville routines which follow, is what makes this film famous. In it Keaton plays everyone in a theatre simultaneously (through multiple exposures). He is the band leader, all its members, the dancers on the stage and everyone in the audience. A technical triumph.

After reading an ad in the London Times about touring Canada, an elderly gentleman decides to do just that. Following his long walk across the Atlantic Ocean, Keaton travels along the Canadian National Railway tracks in a motorized cart, performing a few stunts reminiscent of those in his younger days. Classic silent comedy.
