A number of swamp land men have died by strangulation and the inhabitants believe that an innocent man they hanged is seeking revenge on all of the male descendants of those responsible for his death. Maria, granddaughter of the guilty ferryman, decides to operate the ferry service. Chris Sanders, a son of one of the men who did the hanging, and Maria fall in love. The “strangler” seizes Chris and Maria offers her life if Chris is spared.

Based on the Edgar Allan Poe classic, this story concerns a young girl who becomes obsessed with a portrait of a now deceased relative. Eventually, the spirit of the oval portrait begins to take over the girl’s soul.

Lugosi is a chemist whose backstabbing business partners cheat him out of some profits. To get even, he develops a race of mutant bats, training them to attack wearers of a certain chemical, which he mixes into a shaving cream. Dir. Jean Yarbrough

A stripper is horribly disfigured in a car accident. A brilliant scientist develops a treatment that restores her beauty and falls in love with her. To preserve her appearance the doctor must give her additional treatments using glands taken from murdered women. His unexplained ability to turn into a hideous monster helps with this problem but does nothing to win her love. A young archaeologist believes he is cursed by a mask that causes him to have weird nightmares and possibly to murder. Before committing suicide, he mails the mask to his psychiatrist, Dr. Barnes, who is soon plunged into the nightmare world of the mask.
