This 1967 film is a U.S. Army “The Big Picture” episode documenting the 101st Airborne Division from their arrival in Vietnam in 1965 through January of 1967.

Documentary survey of the activities of the United States Navy leading up to and during the first years of the American war in Vietnam. Footage of American warships during the controversial Gulf of Tonkin incident, which triggered American military action in Vietnam, is shown, as well as depictions of the landing of U.S. Marines on the beaches at Da Nang and Chu Lai. Naval advisors training South Vietnamese military personnel and Seabee construction units building military facilities and hospitals are also seen.

The film’s primary two “couples” are the sex-crazed Stanley and ultra-timid Sheila, and insecure Harry and liberated Beth. In charge of the “experiment” are Prof. Philip Tenhausen and his wife, Margaret, who seem to enjoy the tension they instigate, as well as the graphic sexual episodes that unfold.
