Grierson set out to make “propaganda,” and this film–with it’s voice-over proclaiming the great value of the British industrial worker, without a hint of ambiguity or doubt–fits that category well. The authoritatarian narrator feels out-of-date and unsophisticated, but the footage is well shot and interesting, and the transparency of the propaganda aspect is almost a reflief at a time when so many films have hidden agendas.

Cuban Story: The Truth about Fidel Castro Revolution is a 1959 film documentary narrated by Errol Flynn, and the last known performance work of his career.

It was one of two films Flynn made about the Cuban Revolution during the early period when Castro was publicly denying his communist allegiance, the other being the drama-documentary Cuban Rebel Girls (1959).

The pioneer TV comedian appears in clips from “Take a Good Look” and other shows he hosted in the ’50s and ’60s.
