Two couples are at the seaside. A young man proposes to his gal. She accepts, and promptly tells him to re-tie his tie. He objects, so she returns the ring and walks away. An older couple has their own squabble: the middle-aged husband, who thinks himself a dandy, is happy to see his complaining wife roll away in a small, unattended carriage. He immediately approaches the younger woman. To make her ex-fiancé jealous, she takes up with the dandy and off they go to swim. What of the wife and the jilted beau? Can things be set right?

Henry Aldrich (James Lydon) tries to match his unfriendly teacher, Mr. Bradley (vaughan Glaser) with a wife. Henry hopes the teacher will become friendly enough to let him graduate with honors so he can use an inheritance for college.

In order to impress Phyllis Michael, Henry Aldrich takes a sales job. Soon he is involved with vacuum cleaners, motor boats and a father-son race at a picnic in which he hires a tramp to play his father. Don’t ask. He also has to pay for a motor boat which he accidentally destroyed by accident. Henry has some problems to be solved, and his friend Dizzy Stevens isn’t likely to be of any help.

Errol’s stenographer tells him she will have to leave her job because of her jealous husband, so he volunteers to explain away his doubts.
