Place Of One'S Own 1945
Henry (James Mason) and Emilie Smedhurst (Barbara Mullen) are an older couple who have been successful in business and are nearing retirement. They buy a dilapidated mansion that has been vacant for 40 years, intending to renovate. However, soon after the Smedhursts move in, they hear that the house is haunted. They dismiss the theory — until their young guest, Annette Allenby (Margaret Lockwood), is possessed by the spirit of a murdered invalid on an eternal quest for retribution.
